Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American Canadian singer and songwriter. There are more than 20 albums. DiFranco's music is classified as folk, alternative and rock but also has influences of jazz and hip-hop. Ani DiFranco is frequently regarded as an icon of women's rights and Grammy-winning artist is considered to be the first founder of DIY music. She was among the first artists to launch the label she created in the year 90. DiFranco born on 23 September 1970 in New York City, York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who was introduced to Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was of Italian descent and her mother came from Montreal. Ani DiFranco composed and performed 32 Flavors. The song is featured on her album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. A version of the song can be heard in the film Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco apologized for holding a conference in Louisiana at an old slave plantation. It was called off, but some (including the media) did not see it as a sign of regret. DiFranco offered a second apology a few days later. Her new baritone is custom-built by Alvarez guitar, designed by Chrys Johnston who at that time was the Alvarez Artist Representative. It features their System 600 amp and is constructed from solid woods. It includes a cedar-top mahogany body and sides featuring an ebony fretboard. The couple lives with their two kids at home in New Orleans and Lefty, their dog with long legs who is always in the frame. DiFranco has admitted that she feels mixed emotions regarding her career which spans three decades.
