Luciana Paoluzzi was born Rome and raised by her parents. Her father was Manlio Paoluzzi, an Italian military officer. Maria Rota Paoluzzi was one of the mistresses of Benito Mussolini. It is not known if she had having siblings. Luciana was a student at a local high school prior to matriculating at the Scientific Academy of Milan in 1955. Luciana was one of only two women in the class. Within two years she started her modeling career. Soon after, she was offered the chance to be a part of Three Coins in the Fountain while in Rome visiting the family friend of her father. Brett Halsey - an actor - was her first spouse. They got married in 1960 and filmed the film Return to the Peyton Palace. The couple was blessed with the birth of a son called Charles born on 13 June 1961 but divorced a year following his birth, and Luciana received custody. Between 1962 and the year 1970 Luciana dated Tony Athony who was an actor and producer. He was greatly influenced by her performance in the movie Green Slime and based on the script he wrote as well as the hybrid Spaghetti Western for which he was a bit of a hit.
